You have 2 disks which are obviously configured as a mirrored pair, why would you want to change this for a single SSD? Am i going to ctrl-s or ctrl-c?I currently have a C that came with a H Didn't realize at the time that the H doesn't support IT mode. How would I know if uses Hyper? It has hot swappable bay and two of them has gb of HD each so I assume two guests. To use it how I mentioned, leave the controller in, when you boot the machine choose to edit controller settings and create your disk - a partition if you will and make it logical, that's it.

You should or will likely still use some type of RAID as the guest storage as you don't want guests failing when a disk does. The systme is extremely slow and it was passed onto me and i think the perc and raid setuo never setuo oriperly.

With windows server i am new and decided to keep it instead iof switching it to LINUX or Mac since one software runs only on windows at least for now Any insights would help to keep what is running for a year or two. Do i have to change the Bios setting before or prior? How would you migrate the OS windows server R exists in on partition with all its setupsI an thinking about cloninig it usinf Acronis or Clonzilla BUT again i want to make sure i do not screwup things. Nowadays virtualization is hot and easy to maintain. Crossflashing Dell PERC H200 to LSI 9211-8i You do not have to have aRAID to keep the business going or not worry about backups. Thanks Rod-IT! I have a bit of understanding of RAID and its advantages, but still want to get away from it as technology and prices are change big time. I would also take the time to learn RAID as it is an almost essential tool in many systems these days. With the RAID controller in place you can use single disks although not recommendedyou still need to create a logical volume in the RAID utility consisting of your single disk. It is not really important if the server goes down for half a day or so. I have small business and i am not familiar much with RAID setup, but more comfortable with traditional way if using Sata, backup and cloning. Unzip P12 firmware package and copy sas2flsh. Run Dell firmware self-executable and copy 6gbpsas. Steps: Create bootable dos using rufus or similar. I couldn't find any official download, but there are multiple sites that offer this. If someone else is considering using this card or H in Freenas, this might help.
